BIM, Bureau International Maritime, started out as a daughter company of AHLERS in 1998. In the meantime we have grown into a joint initiative of AHLERS and EXMAR Ship Management, combining the best of both worlds to offer you and your crew high-quality training and first class support for your maritime projects.
AHLERS has over one hundred years of experience in owning and operating ships, performing complex maritime logistics projects and educating the next generation of seagoing and offshore personnel. We have operated across many industries including oil and gas, consumer goods, chemicals and oversized machinery transhipment.
Thanks to the recent joining of forces with EXMAR Academy, a branch of EXMAR Ship Management, BIM’s expertise was complemented with knowhow in gas operations of both tankers and offshore units.
BIM works in close collaboration with BIM e-Solutions. This allows us to offer consultancy and support in the digitalisation of courses and projects. BIM e-Solutions acts as representative of the national authorities of Bénin, Burkina Faso and Congo and provides the management and maintenance of their online ECTN (Electronic Cargo Tracking Note) platform.
Together, we stand for history-led and innovation-driven entrepreneurship.
BIM was able to grow by focusing on our two main activities: training and projects. Please visit the dedicated pages on our website to find out what we can offer within these domains.
Our activities have evolved over the last 20 years, but the core business of our company has always been the same: delivering solutions to clients in the maritime industries, where we operate using a certified quality-driven approach. Our certifications attest to the excellence of our methods: we are triple certified per ISO’s 9001:2008 and 14001:2004 and OHSAS 18001:2007.
